Zinc strip

Zinc ribbon anodes are a type of sacrificial anode cathodic protection material, primarily made of metallic zinc. The diamond-shaped zinc ribbon anodes comply with ASTM-B418 (Type 1/Type 2) standards and possess excellent mechanical properties.
When the corrosion cell system is active, another electrode wire is connected. This electrode has a more negative potential, and at this point, the original corrosion cell and this electrode form a new macroscopic battery. According to electrochemical principles, the negative electrode becomes the anode of this new battery, while the so-called cathode is the original corrosion cell. A cathodic current is provided from the electrolyte to the protected structure via the anode, initiating cathodic protection and completing the protection process. As the anode material is continuously consumed, current flows out, thus creating the sacrificial anode.

Primarily used in high-resistivity environments, protection of pipelines within casings, temporary cathodic protection for pipelines, protection of storage tanks and pipeline networks, and grounding grids for strong electrical interference protection.
